EDLD 5364 WEB CONFERENCE REFLECTION
I
only attend web conferences when I have a question concerning that week’s
lesson. Although this week’s course was
very extensive, I didn’t participate.
Each assignment was very well organized. I was given specifics on how to access the UDL
Lessons using the CAST Lesson Builder and the step by step directions helped me
create my e-book very easily. The
readings, videos, and discussions helped me understand how to plan,
design, and create effective learning environments and experiences supported by
technology. I also learned how to design, develop, model, and evaluate products
created using technology resources to improve and enhance productivity and
professional practice. Finally, I learned how to make decisions about what
technology tools can best solve a problem, then evaluate results, and
communicate the results in a variety of formats for diverse audiences.
EDLD 5364 WEEK 3 LESSON LEARNED
This week’s assignment,
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Center for Applied Special Technology
(CAST) was very interesting. The
readings, videos, and discussion described to me the three overarching operative
principles which are formed to minimize barriers and maximize learning through flexibility. The UDL Principles: To support recognition learning, affective
learning and strategic learning, to provide multiple flexible methods of
expression, apprenticeship, presentation and options for engagement. These
principles provide a blueprint for creating instructional goals, methods,
materials, and assessments that work for everyone (Cast.org, 2009) ensuring
that all student’s needs are met.
